Release Update - April 2026

New Features & Improvements

Finalization Reminder Email Settings for Courses under Review

This feature enables coordinators to set finalization expectations and reminders for faculty who teach courses that are part of a course review cycle. This helps faculty remember to engage in their part of the process with meaningful reflections on the course and minimizes the amount of auto or bulk finalized data.

In the Course Review Cycle setup modal (on the Course Central screen), coordinators can now specify when faculty will receive reminders to finalize results for their courses that are under review. These reminders are sent out at intervals relative to the date at which a specific Canvas course’s term ends. This feature relies upon Canvas terms having end_at dates.

  • If the coordinator only sets the "days before term ends," faculty will receive a notification email the specified number of days before the term ends. They will also receive a notification on the day the term ends.
  • If the coordinator only sets the "days after term ends," faculty will receive a notification on the day the term ends and a second notification the specified number of days after the term ends.
  • If they set both, faculty will receive three notifications: an advance reminder notification, a notification on the day the term ends, and a notification the specified days after the term ends.
  • This is an optional feature. If no days are set, faculty will not receive reminders.
