What settings do I need to update in Canvas to prepare for Insights?

Before you begin your implementation process in Insights, you will need to ensure that some specific Canvas settings are optimized for your institution. This article will review those settings.

Account and Course Level Outcome Mastery Scales

Important: To ensure mastery levels sync correctly from Insights to Instructure Canvas, the Account and Course Level Outcome Mastery Scales feature must be disabled.If this feature is enabled:
  • The rating scales sent from Insights will not appear in Canvas.
  • Faculty will not be able to finalize results in their Faculty Dashboards.
Disabling this feature ensures the Insights rating scales display properly and allows faculty to complete the finalization process successfully.
